The forum is where you ask for help, share what you're making and talk to other creators. Anyone can read it. Sign in to start topics, reply and like posts.
Find your way around
The community home shows the latest topics, the categories in the sidebar, and the newest announcements from Enviglo. Categories are grouped into sections, and each one is one of three kinds:
Discussion: open conversation.
Help: questions. The person who asked can mark the reply that solved it.
News: announcements from the Enviglo team, also listed on the News page.
In some categories only the Enviglo team can start topics. They say "Only the Enviglo team starts topics here".
Inside a category, sort the topics with Latest (recent activity, with pinned topics first), New (newest topics) or Top (most liked, then most replied to).
Search
Use the Search topics and posts box on the community home. It looks through topic titles, tags and the text of posts, and shows the most recently active topics first. Select a tag on any topic to search for it.
Search before you ask: someone may already have the answer.
Start a topic
On the community home, select New topic. Inside a category, New topic starts one there.
Under Category, choose where it belongs. Each category shows its section and a short description.
Write a Title of 6 to 120 characters. For a question, say exactly what's going wrong.
Write your Post. It needs at least 20 characters. Use Preview to check how it looks.
Add Tags if you like: up to five, separated by commas.
Select Post topic.
For a good answer, say what you tried, what you expected and what happened instead. Paste the full error, and put code in a code block.
Reply
Type in the Your reply box at the bottom of a topic and select Post reply.
To answer a particular post, select Reply under it. The box shows who you're replying to, and they're told about your reply. Select the cross on that label to reply to the topic in general instead.
A locked topic can't get new replies. It says "This topic is locked, so it can't get new replies."
Format your posts
Posts use Markdown: bold, lists, links, images, tables and code blocks all work. Raw HTML doesn't show.
Put code between lines of three backticks, with the language after the first set. Write lua or luau for Luau:
```lua
local Players = game:GetService("Players")
print(#Players:GetPlayers())
```
Common languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, C#, JSON and SQL are highlighted too. If you leave the language off, Enviglo guesses. The preview doesn't colour code; highlighting appears once you post.
Mention someone
Type the at sign followed by their username, with no space, to link to their profile and notify them:
Thanks @username, that fixed it.
Up to ten people are notified per post. Mentions inside code don't count.
Like a post
Select the heart under a post to like it, and select it again to take the like back. You can't like your own posts.
Mark the solution
In Help categories, the person who asked can mark the reply that solved it.
Under the reply, select Mark as solution.
The topic is marked Solved, the reply shows Solution, and a link to it appears at the top of the topic.
The reply's author is told. To undo it, select Solution under the same reply. Only replies can be the solution, not the opening post. Enviglo's moderators can mark and clear solutions too.
Edit or delete your posts
Edit: select the pencil under your post, make your changes and select Save. When you edit the opening post, you can change the topic's title and tags too. Edited posts show when they were edited.
Delete: select the bin under your post, then Delete. Deleting the opening post removes the whole topic, with every reply, for everyone.
Share: select the link icon to copy a link straight to the post.
You can't edit posts in a locked topic.
How you hear about replies
You get a notification when:
someone replies to a topic you started
someone replies to one of your posts
someone mentions you
your reply is marked as the solution
a moderator removes your topic or post, with the reason
If the same person replies to you or mentions you again in the same topic within an hour, and you haven't read the first notification, you won't get another. You can't follow a topic. See Messages and notifications.
Report a post
Under the post, select the flag.
Under What's wrong?, choose a reason.
Add Details if they help, up to 1,000 characters. They're required if you choose Something else.
Select Send report.
Reports go to the Enviglo team, not to the person who posted. Reporting the opening post reports the whole topic. You can send up to 10 reports an hour.
Rules and limits
Never post API keys, cookies or passwords.
Selling and advertising belong on your store page, not in topics.
Enviglo's moderators can remove, lock, pin and move topics, and remove posts. A removed post shows "This post was removed."
