A code gives a product to whoever types it in. It isn't a discount: buyers pay on Roblox, so there's nothing for a code to take money off. Instead, the code hands the product over itself. Use codes for giveaways, paying a collaborator, or making something right.
Before you start
You need the Giveaway codes permission. The Codes page is only in your sidebar if you have it.
If your store makes staff ask before Giving products away, staff without the Approve changes permission see Ask for approval instead of Create the code. The code is made once a manager says yes. See Approvals.
Make a code
In your store's dashboard, open Codes.
Under Make a code, choose the product in Hands over.
Keep the suggested code in The code, press Suggest another, or type your own.
Optionally fill in the rest:
How many people: leave it empty for no limit.
Stops working: a date and time. Leave it empty and the code lasts until you switch it off.
Days of access: for subscription products only. Leave it empty to give the product's own length.
What it's for: a private note, like "YouTube giveaway, March". Whoever redeems the code never sees it.
Press Create the code.
You'll see a message like "SPRING-2026 will hand over Car Pack."
Rules for codes
4 to 32 characters: letters, numbers and dashes. Letters are saved in capitals and spaces are removed, so people can type a code in any case. The dashes do count.
Every code is unique across all of Enviglo, not just your store.
Suggested codes are three groups of four characters, and leave out letters and numbers that look alike, like O and 0.
Each person can use a code once, whatever How many people says.
How many people can be 1 to 100,000. Days of access can be 1 to 3,650.
What someone gets from a code
One purchase products: a license. If they already own it, the code is still used up, and they get nothing extra.
Buy more than once products: another copy each time.
Subscription products: the code's Days of access, or the product's own length, added to any time they have left.
Bundles: the bundle and everything inside it. See Bundles.
A code only works while its product is published. You can make codes for drafts ahead of a launch; they start working when the product goes live.
Share it
Send the code however you like. People redeem it at /redeem, signed in to their Enviglo account, and the product goes straight to their library. See Redeem a code.
To save them typing, link to /redeem with the code on the end. It's filled in for them:
/redeem?code=SPRING-2026
Keep track of your codes
Below the form, your codes are listed newest first, each with a status:
Working
Switched off
Expired: its Stops working time has passed.
All used up: it has reached How many people.
Each code shows its product, how many times it has been used (out of how many, if there's a limit), when it was last used, its end date and your note. Press the copy icon beside a code to copy it. The heading counts how many are still working.
Every code made, switched off, deleted or redeemed is recorded in your store's audit log. See Activity and the audit log.
Switch a code off, or delete it
Switch off stops the code working straight away and keeps its history. Switch on brings it back. If your store requires approval for giving products away, only a manager can switch a code back on.
The bin icon deletes the code and its record, once you confirm with Delete. Licenses people already got from it stay.
Making lots of codes
The dashboard makes one code at a time, and one person can make 30 codes an hour. For a giveaway, one code with a limit on How many people is often simplest.
Your own tools can also make codes through the API, using a key that can Manage codes. Each key can make 60 an hour, and Enviglo picks the code if you don't. See API keys and the API reference.
What people see when a code doesn't work
These are the messages people get when redeeming, and what they mean:
"No code like that. Check it for typos." The code doesn't exist.
"That code has been switched off." You switched it off.
"That code has expired." Its Stops working time has passed.
"That code has been used as many times as it can be." It has reached How many people.
"You have already used that code." Each person can use a code once.
"The product this code is for isn't available right now." The product isn't published.
"That store isn't open right now." Your store has been suspended or closed.
"That store is not accepting redemptions from you." You've banned them. See Customers and bans.
Troubleshooting
"Somebody already has that code. Codes are unique across Enviglo." Pick another, or press Suggest another.
"Letters, numbers and dashes only." Take out other symbols.
"Pick a time in the future."Stops working has to be later than now.
"Too many new codes in a short time." You've made 30 codes in the last hour. Try again later.
