Linking a Discord server to your store lets the Enviglo bot give Discord roles to people who own your products, and answer commands about your store in that server. This guide is for store owners and the team members who set it up.
Before you start
Your role: you need to be the store's owner or an admin, or staff with the Integrations permission. See Roles and permissions.
The server: in Discord, you need to own the server or have Administrator or Manage Server there.
A store can have one Discord server, and a server can only be linked to one store.
Link your server
In your store's dashboard, open Settings → Integrations.
Go to Discord server.
If Enviglo can't see your servers yet, select . If your Enviglo account has no Discord linked, the button reads . Discord asks you to let Enviglo see your servers. Allow it, and you come back to this page.
Choose your server with Discord
Link Discord and choose a server
Pick your server from the Discord server dropdown. Only servers you own, or where you have Administrator or Manage Server, are listed. Each one says Bot added or Needs the bot.
If it says Needs the bot, select Add the Enviglo bot. Discord opens with your server already chosen. Authorise the bot there.
Back on Enviglo, select Save Discord settings in the bar at the bottom of the page.
When it's saved, Enviglo shows "Saved." and the page confirms the Enviglo bot is in your server.
Link from Discord with /setup
You can also link a server from inside it:
Add the Enviglo bot to the server first, using the steps above.
In the server, run /setup and choose your store in the store option.
For /setup, you need Administrator or Manage Server in the Discord server, and you need to be the store's owner or an admin on Enviglo. Staff can't link a server this way. Your Discord account must be linked to your Enviglo account.
By default, Discord only shows /setup to members with the Administrator permission. Run /setup without choosing a store to see which store the server is linked to.
What the bot needs
Manage Roles: this is the only permission the bot asks for when you add it. It needs it to give and remove product roles, so don't take it away.
Its place in the role list: the Enviglo bot's role must sit above every role you want it to hand out. Discord won't let a bot give roles that are above its own.
Commands about your store work in the server, like /store, /products, /licenses and /retrieve, and your staff can use /give, /revoke, /transfer and /stats. See Discord bot commands.
The Discord invite link under Settings → Store is separate. It's the invite shown on your storefront, and it doesn't link a server or add the bot.
Change or disconnect your server
Open Settings → Integrations and go to Discord server.
Pick a different server, or No server to disconnect.
Select Save Discord settings.
Things to know:
Roles the bot has already given out in the old server stay there. Enviglo stops managing roles in that server.
A product's role ID belongs to one server. If you move to a new server, update the Role ID on each product's Delivery page.
/setup can't move a store that's already linked to another server. Change or disconnect it on Enviglo first.
If your store came over from myPod and your game still uses myPod's older ownership checks, those find your store by its Discord server. Keep the same server linked while you rely on them. See Coming from myPod.
Troubleshooting
Your server isn't in the dropdown. Only servers you own, or where you have Administrator or Manage Server, are listed. If you've just been given that permission, reload the page.
"Discord couldn't be reached to list your servers. Try again in a minute." Discord didn't answer. Reload the page after a minute.
"Sign in with Discord to link a server." Link your Discord account to Enviglo first.
"Your Discord account isn't in that server." Join the server with the Discord account linked to Enviglo, or link the right account.
"You need Administrator or Manage Server in that server to link it." Ask the server's owner to give you one of these, or to link the server themselves.
"Add the Enviglo bot to that server first, then save again." Select Add the Enviglo bot, authorise it in Discord, then save again.
"That Discord server is already linked to another store." Disconnect it from the other store first.
"Discord couldn't be reached. Try again in a minute." Wait a minute and save again.
/setup says "Not your store". Only the store's owner or an admin can link a server with /setup. Staff with Integrations can use the dashboard instead.
/setup says "This server is taken". The server is linked to a different store. Disconnect it there first.
