Discord roles for products

First version

+ You can give each product a Discord role. Enviglo's bot then adds that role to owners in your linked server, and removes it when their license is revoked or moves to someone else. This guide is for store owners and staff who edit products.
   
+ ## Before you start
+  
+ - **A linked server:** your store needs a Discord server with the Enviglo bot in it. See [Connect your Discord server](/wiki/connect-your-discord-server).
+ - **The role:** create it in your Discord server first.
+ - **Role order:** the Enviglo bot's role must sit above the product role in your server's role list, or Discord won't let the bot hand it out.
+ - **Your permission:** you need **Edit products**. Owners and admins have it. See [Roles and permissions](/wiki/roles-and-permissions).
+  
+ ## Set a role for a product
+  
+ 1. In Discord, turn on Developer Mode, right-click the role, and copy its ID.
+ 2. In your store's dashboard, open **Products** and open the product.
+ 3. Open the **Delivery** tab.
+ 4. Under **What they get in Discord**, paste the ID into **Role ID**.
+ 5. Select **Save delivery** in the bar at the bottom of the page.
+  
+ To stop giving a role for a product, clear **Role ID** and save.
+  
+ If your store has no linked server, the **Role ID** field says nothing will be granted until you link one.
+  
+ ## When the role is added and removed
+  
+ The role follows the license. Enviglo adds or removes it when the license changes:
+  
+ | What happens | The role |

+ | Someone buys the product in your game | Added |
+ | Someone buys a subscription again in your game | Added, if it was missing |
+ | Someone adds a free product to their library | Added |
+ | Your team grants the product, from the dashboard, with `/give`, or through an approved request | Added |
+ | Your team restores a revoked license | Added |
+ | A license is transferred, by your team or by its owner | Removed from the old owner, added to the new owner |
+ | Your team revokes the license, including with `/revoke` or through a ban that revokes what the customer owns | Removed |
+ | A subscription runs out | Removed |
+  
+ If the bot can't add or remove a role, the license change still goes through. Discord just doesn't get the role change. See [Troubleshooting](#troubleshooting) below.

+ ## Customers need a linked Discord account
+  
+ Licenses belong to Enviglo accounts. The bot gives the role to the Discord account linked to the owner's Enviglo account, so:
+  
+ - Customers need their Discord account linked on Enviglo. See [Link your Discord account](/wiki/link-your-discord-account).
+ - They need to be in your server when the role is added.
+ - For purchases in your game to reach their account, they also need their Roblox account linked. See [Link your Roblox account](/wiki/link-your-roblox-account).
+  
+ Without a linked Discord account, a customer still owns the product. They just don't get the role.
+  
+ ## Get a missing role back
+  
+ Enviglo adds roles when a license changes. It doesn't add them later for people who weren't ready at the time, for example:
+  
+ - someone who linked Discord, or joined your server, after they got the product
+ - people who already owned the product before you set its role
+  
+ Any owner can fix this themselves. In your server, they run `/retrieve` and pick the product. If they own it, the bot gives them the role back. See [Discord bot commands](/wiki/discord-bot-commands).

+ If you run your own bot, the Enviglo API can tell it which product roles a Discord member should have. See [API keys](/wiki/api-keys).

+ ## Changing a product's role
+  
+ When you change a product's **Role ID**, the new role is used from the next license change. People who already have the old role keep it, and existing owners don't get the new one until they run `/retrieve` or their license changes.
+  
+ ## Troubleshooting
+  
+ - **The role isn't being given.** Check, in this order:
+   - The Enviglo bot's role is above the product role in your server's role list.
+   - The bot still has the Manage Roles permission.
+   - The **Role ID** is right, and belongs to the server linked to your store. Enviglo doesn't check the ID against your server.
+   - The customer has linked the right Discord account on Enviglo.
+   - The customer was in your server at the time. If not, they can run `/retrieve` now.
+ - **"Enter a valid Discord ID."** Paste the role's ID, a long number, not its name.
+ - **The field says no Discord server is linked.** Link your server under **Settings** → **Integrations**. See [Connect your Discord server](/wiki/connect-your-discord-server).
+ - **Someone still has the role after their license was revoked.** The bot couldn't remove it. Check the role order and the Manage Roles permission, as above. Roles given by hand in Discord have to be removed by hand.
