+ **Promote** puts one of your products in front of more people. Its tile appears among the normal results in browse and on the home page, marked **Promoted**, and you pay from your store's ad credit only when people actually see it.+ ## Before you start++ - **Who can use it**: owners and admins. Staff given **Settings** (or a custom role with **Promote**) can open **Promote** and run campaigns too, but only owners and admins can buy credit.+ - **Something to promote**: a published product with at least one image.+ - **Ad credit**: a campaign can't start without it. See below.++ ## Where promoted tiles show++ - **Browse and categories**: each page of results in browse and the category pages has a place for one promoted tile.+ - **Home page**: one tile in the **Trending products** section.++ When several campaigns could fill a place, one is picked at random, weighted by how much budget each has left. A bigger budget is seen more often, not placed first. A promoted tile never repeats a product that's already on the page.++ The Enviglo team checks every campaign before it runs, and campaigns stop showing while your store is paused.++ ## How you're charged++ - $1 buys 1,000 impressions. A tile playing a video costs twice as much: 500 impressions a dollar.+ - An impression counts once at least half the tile has been on screen for a second. The same browser counts at most three times a day for a campaign.+ - Clicks are free. They're counted so you can see whether being seen turned into visits.+ - Nothing comes out of your credit up front, while a campaign is being checked, or if it's turned down. Credit is spent as the tile is seen.+ - A campaign stops when it has spent its budget or your store runs out of credit, whichever comes first.++ ## Get ad credit++ The **Credit** figure at the top of **Promote** shows what you have left to spend.++ ### Credit with your plan++ Pro includes $2 of ad credit a month and Ultimate $5, added once a month. Free months of a paid plan given to myPod stores don't include it. See [Plans, limits and fees](/wiki/plans-and-fees).++ ### Buy credit++ Owners and admins can buy credit from the **Buy credit** panel on **Promote**:++ 1. Choose a pack: **$5**, **$10**, **$25**, **$50** or **$100**.+ 2. Pay on Stripe's checkout page. Each pack adds exactly its value to your credit, and tax is added at checkout where it applies.+ 3. You come back to **Promote**, and "Payment received. Thank you!" confirms it.++ If the **Buy credit** panel isn't there, buying credit isn't available for your store right now.++ ## Start a campaign++ 1. In your store's dashboard, open **Promote**.+ 2. Under **Promote a product**, choose the **Product**. Only published products with an image are listed.+ 3. Enter a **Budget in dollars**, from $1 to $500. The form shows roughly how many impressions it buys.+ 4. Under **Where it can show**, keep **Browse and categories**, **Home page** or both ticked.+ 5. Select **Start promoting**.++ The campaign shows as **Being checked** until the Enviglo team decides, and the store's owners and admins are notified either way. Once it's approved, it starts running straight away.++ ## Manage your campaigns++ Each campaign shows its impressions, clicks, how much of its budget it has spent, and where it can show. Its status is one of:++ - **Being checked**: waiting for the Enviglo team.+ - **Running**: showing now.+ - **Paused**: stopped by you, or by the Enviglo team.+ - **Finished**: out of budget or credit.+ - **Turned down**: not approved. The reason shows under the campaign.++ What you can do:++ - **$5** adds $5 to the budget. A campaign's budget can't go over $500. Adding budget to an approved campaign that has finished starts it again.+ - **Pause** stops a running campaign, and **Run** starts it again while it has budget left.+ - **Add a video** plays a video in the tile instead of the product's artwork. It can be an MP4, WebM or MOV file under 200 MB. Staff also need **Products** (or a custom role with **Edit products**) to upload one. The Enviglo team reviews it first, and the tile keeps its artwork until the video's approved. Select **Remove** to take a video off.++ A campaign that was turned down can't be started or topped up. Start a new one instead.++ ## Troubleshooting++ - **"Publish a product with an image first"** shows instead of the form when none of your products can be promoted yet.+ - **"You have no credit yet, so a campaign can't start."** Buy credit, or wait for your plan's monthly credit.+ - **"Put at least $1 behind it."** or **"That's more than a campaign can hold."** Budgets run from $1 to $500.+ - **"This campaign has spent its budget. Give it more to start it again."** Select **$5** to add budget.+ - **"You have no advertising credit, so more budget wouldn't buy anything yet."** Add credit before topping up a campaign.+ - **"The Enviglo team stopped this campaign."** You can't restart a campaign Enviglo stopped.
